  • All Work and No Play

    Highlights:

Out for cocktails with my gal pal from the gallery last night. Turns out she is a new mom since I last saw her and wow! It was great to catch up.

Work is full of working. Lots and lots of working.

Time with friends is intermittent but always wonderful.

    The pets are good.

The boyfriend is still my boyfriend so far.

My son is wonderful. More handsome then ever.

Went out to see Mortified again, in Berkeley. Check it out: http://www.getmortified.com/ A great time wandering around Berkeley and a wonderful live performance. If you can, I recommend checking this out.

I am reading lots of books because I am not drinking lots of booze. It had to happen some time.

I have gained a ton of weight so I MUST buy new clothes!

I am making a plan to go to Italy next year.

    Middle aged is interesting.

My life has no drama whatsoever.

    Lowlights:

Work is full of working so I do not get as many adventures as usual.

    Time with friends is intermittent.

I am reading lots of books because I am not drinking lots of booze. This correlates with work – I cannot do this much math and still drink that much booze. It had to happen sometime.

My boyfriend is still my boyfriend. So far. I think the seventeen year age difference is finally sinking in. I’ll be sad if he breaks up with me but I am sure we would still be friends. He is a wonderful human being.

I have gained a ton of weight.

My daughter is still not talking to me. (Going on two years – that girl can hold a grudge or what ever it is she is holding)

    Middle aged is interesting.

My life has no drama whatsoever ;)

Note to self: Must blog more often…

  • Gee, it has been a while since connecting.  Aging is great….I’ll take it to the alternative.

  • sounds like a great life to me

  • I love you Cassi and hope that you and the man can eithe work out the differences or  cool on your own terms. Glad your son is still dong so well, as for your daughter I hope her grudge fades soon, your Junebug needs her gandcassima.

Glad you took the time to blog again, I miss keeping up with my family and you are a big part of my xangafamily.

  • I quite like a life with no drama but, as soon as I start to think that it is a little boring, along comes drama to remind me why I quite like a life with no drama – lol.
I hope the boyfriend stays being the boyfriend because he seems wonderful from your descriptions. I dated somebody 13 years younger than me for a while (4 years ago) and I couldn’t take him seriously. I kept thinking ‘what does a young guy want with an old duck like me when he would have any young chick he wants?’ but it was more about my insecurity than about what he actually wanted. Anyway… enjoy your young man every day that he is around
    Luv u!

  • What books are you reading?  I am wishing I had some David Foster Wallace right now but I’m busy reading other books.  I rarely ever drink anymore.  I drank Boone’s Farm the other day and I barfed.  I was alone but I was still embarrassed.  haha.  Having a 8 (9? I can’t remember) year younger boyfriend was very weird at first, then very exciting, and then I didn’t like it very much at all.  And you still need to go to the Freight and Salvage!  That’s what took me to Berkeley in the first place. :)

  • No drama is good.  I’m always down for that.  Glad to see you’re still kicking, literally & figuratively.

  • I love how you mix it up. Middle age blows chunks if you ask me. I am on a real downer. Maybe I need someone elses dramaLAMALAMA to get my Gratitude back..LMAO or a boyfriend would be nice.

  • I wonder about middle age. Why do they call it middle? How many people do we know twice our age? Glad you’re still with us.

  • Ack! No drama?!?  That explains the “Fat ‘n Happy” syndrome.  Working lots is also conducive to weight gain.  Enjoy it while it lasts.  Skinny at our age just means more wrinkles; so wear that youthful look proudly.  Just keep it in that healthy range

  • Middle age, not drinking so much, more books. handsome son, time with friends, Italy, all sounds wonderful. Grudging daughter does not sound good but then it never did. Weight gain can be taken care of, I hope, because I have to do it too. Boyfriend figuring out he is younger does not sound good but I guess we never thought this was forever. (Actually, I thought it was but I am a dreamer and should truly know better.) I love you and I know it will all work out in some fashion I hope it is good.

  • I hope things are still on an even keel.. :)

  • I checked many times here but nothing . And now I am late, Cassi !!

All in all , things ar OK for you and i AM GLAD .
    Yes; post more often
    Love

    ps :I like @judyrutrider ‘s advice above

  • Sounds like you lead an interesting, fun life ! I hope my life is never normal….how boring would THAT be ?!?

    xoxo
