  • Updated – Oh Mon Chien. I would love some fudge right now…

1-15-2012 Update: Yesterdays mail brought a box of home made fudge courtesy of #mamahen! Thank you Kate, it is the finest fudge in all the land! (ps: today is my daughter’s 26th birthday. Several friends and I were out last night karaoke-ing, at midnight I called her and we sang happy birthday! Of course, she did not pick up the phone and she is still not talking to me. That’s ok though)

Alas, I seem to be working in a fudge free enviroment.

Making the best of any situation I will rummage a bit and discover what is on hand…be right back…

    Hmmmm…Ghirardelli semi chocolae chips…Eureka!

Merry After Christmas AND Happy Last Humpday of 2011.

These have been the days my friends.

I hope that your holidays have been merry and bright.

It feels as though this year many people I know have struggled with the blues more than usual. These have been tough times for many. I hope you all found something soft and good during your Christmas time.

Mine was lovely. A collection of my misfit friends (and my son!) joined me for some bbq-ing, booze and sitting around the fire pit. It was sweet and filled with laughs. And the usual wonderful eats and libations.

It was one of the sunniest and dryest Christmas times I have ever experienced. Chilly enough but sunny and nearly cloudless. I have no complaints since I spent my month with out wheels. Whoa, what an inconvience. My friends were wonderful with the occasional ride. And my walks during these brisk weeks have been refreshing and good for me.

I mentioned new additions to my household…a new room mate. So far, he seems like a nice guy. All my pals liked him. Also, I will be introducing a little dog to my mix. She comes to me from the lady who does my hair. She is a four year old terrier, like a Westie or Bichon. I am not sure which.

She looks like this but needs a hair cut. I will post pics once I get her home and trim her up.

I have to see how she is towards Esme. She seems very sweet but has not been around cats. Just two other dogs. I have seen her through the year and she has been friendly and does not seem agressive. We will see how it all goes.

Her name is Lola. How perfect is that? I see rhinestones and leopart print in her future…

My car is back. With a replaced engine AND radiator. The front bumper is cracked but all seems well. It is so good to have wheels again.

Ok, dullest blog ever. This is just a KETCHUP!

I will leave you with this:

This is my new do. And my hair dresser, Nooria. She is the best. If I did not look so tired, I would show you my brow work. She really does a great job.

    Ok…my blog…bleh.

    But I rub you.

    Happy Almost New Year!
    What are you doing?

    xxoo

  • Happy New Year. ryc, I don’t have my aunt’s phone number, we only communicate by writing. My father’s side of the family is not as close as the West Coast (mother’s) side of the family. Looking forward to pics of Lola.

  • You’re Christmas sounds nice.  Thinking of doing the fire pit thing for New Years since it’s supposed to be in the 50s here.  We’ll see.

Happy New Year and all the best to you & yours.

  • Cassi your blog was not blah! I found it upbeat and positive. I understand about the car, I too had to depend on friends for a month before things were done. I lvoe the neww pet you got. And I love the name. I think her and Esme will get along fabulously.  I would love nothing better than to spend New Years Eve in Davis as mine willb e by myself in Laurel, although I will have my Riley to ring in the New Years with me since the kids are going out to be kids and grandma gets to babysit!  I will love having him by my side to be the one that gets the New Years Kiss. I will  be sure and give him one for you!

Cassi the year had it ups and downs for me just like everyone but they are so little compared to two of my big highlights! Riley Kane Burnham and you. What 2 great people to ahve come into my life this past year….Thank you for you! Love you!

  • Oh! Mon chien! But of course! Your new dog. I am so looking forward to Lola’s pictures. Lola and Esme. Do not worry. Esme will speak to Lola in her soft, sweet voice and put her right. All will be well.
Listen, about that fudge. I had planned to make some fudge for Rudy for Christmas so I could eat it but in the rush I forgot! I have been longing for fudge since then and just when I had gotten over it… who mentions fudge? And oh, I make the best fudge ever!
And your hair is gorgeous and so YOU!

  • Thanks for the rub, Cassi !!
One of my daughter rescued and adopted a small dog she called Lola , too !! She has black long hair that she lose on the carpets !!!  But excepted that she is kind   About hair cut , perhaps it is better to wait warmer days . She may catch a cold !

I am glad your car is back . It has been hard for you .  Only solace : you save money with no gasoline purchase but alas you will have to pay the repairs. Times are hard somertimes . but you knew worse !
I imagine you and yours around the fire pit . Warm moments .
Cassi I wish for you the best for 2012 .

    Love

  • First off, your blog is never boring!  I love all the things you share with us!  I sure wish I lived close to you.  I think we’d get along so well, especially sitting around the fire and drinking booze!  hahahahahaaha!  Someday, I’ll make it out to Cali to see you!  Or come to Cincinnati!  Your hair looks super!  I love the cut too and how it flips up at the ends!  She did a greatttttttt job!  Happy New Year Cassie and I hope 2012 is filled with lots of laughter, love and happiness for you and smooth running cars too!  :)

  • @heart_beep - she put some gel in and used one of those round brushes when she blow dried it. I can never get those results with my clumsy attempts. If I am any where near Cincinnati, I will let you know, cutey! xxoo Happy New Year.

  • @queenie - Working at the front desk of our salon, I’m always embarrassed when I have a bad hair day!  I don’t want to be a bad reflection on the stylist who does my hair but gosh darn I can never get it as straight as she does!

  • Already NEW YEARS is gone.
Thank you for being a friend.
    Love
