We loves the Sea!
I will not bore you with the details just yet…let’s cut straight away to the pictures!Jocelyn, Juniper and I went for a drive to Point Reyes Station this past Saturday.
I love Point Reyes mostly because it is amazing and so close for a day trip. Jocelyn has not been here for awhile and it was Junipers FIRST TIME at the ocean! It should have been an hour and 38 minutes to our destination. I printed out directions and everything.
Alas… I missed something and added nearly an hour to our drive. I guess catching up with Jocelyn took my mind off directions!
The FIRST time our little Miss put her WIDDLE toes in the sand!
Our first stop was Drake Beach at Point Reyes National Sea Shore. I chose it because it is easy to access the sea. No long walks in. Joc and I never mind a hike, but with a baby, easy is everything. We got a front row parking spot and walked right up to the crashing waves in a matter of minutes. Cool that!Juniper was not overwhelmed by the foggy windy beach atmosphere at all. Just very interested. Her calculating mind is probably figuring out the barometric pressure and the tide tables as we were gasping at the vagrant gulls and kissing her rosy cheeks.
We had such a wonderful day. Juniper was marvelous. She enjoyed the outing and the girl time as much as we did. I believe she is ciphering gull messages to the sand crabs at this very moment.
We love the sea.
Deer with a viewFrom Drakes Beach we drove over to the Point Reyes Light House. It was late and the area was closed but we cruised and sight saw. The place was really not very busy for a weekend day. Jocelyn was amazed by all the deer sightings.
A Plethora of Bovine Booty!
Ghost Ships on the horizon
Terrific oreo cow pastoral photo opps!
You get to see a number of these fellows around Point Reyes. The raven is a common bird around these parts. But not so common to me. They seem to add mystery and etiquette to the otherwise blustery oyster ranch and tide pooling atmosphere. A little depth with your shrimp cocktail please.
Oh look! Grandma’ma with her Juniper! Can you see my smiling bursting heart wrapped around this beautiful being? Good Grief! This darling child is loved.
My little Mermaids.
A perfect day.
I got lost coming home. Even missed our “home” exit. Nothing like darling mermaids to distract a tired lady!
My son is good. Busy with music, recording and touring.
I am sure I will have pics of him soon. (He just got back home from a three week mini tour and is busy busy busy!)
Life is good.
I am sure I will have some news about that soon. (I have new jobs, I lost old jobs, nothing has broken, I am crossing my fingers)What else really matters?
xxxoo!
What is new, xanga crew?

I’d say it’s time to invest in a smart phone or GPS device…that’s an awful lot of getting lost!
@NightCometh - I have one, it helped me get unlost coming and going. I am just an air head these days.
@heart_beep - Thank you for your kind words and recommendation. You are always so kind. <3!
@piqued - Bonnie, I loves ewe.
@Myst - Joc took a million pictures of me. It was fun to have pics of me and my grand baby! You know how that goes when you are the one USUALLY taking all the pictures!
Juniper really is a pretty little thing. Those dark eyes. My kinda babe.
Looks rather lovely there… I remember pics from there in the past, of the light house. No beaches for us land locked souls in the middle, I’m afraid. No light houses or ghost ships. Bah.
Great pics. What a wonderful day for Junie.
To see the ocean for the first time. Brings back a lot of memories for me.
I love the beach–got a dose down in Laguna just this past Monday. Juniper is getting so big! And she’s sooo cute!
These pics are so precious–like your girls!! I could almost feel like I was there, you captured the ambiance perfectly! I didn’t realize there was a beach that close to parking. I was wondering how you were going to do such a hike with the baby. Awesome!
PS – Get google maps for your phone–makes navigating easy!!
oh that child! that child! she is captivating! I see her Grandma’ma is having difficulty expressing how much she loves little Juniper. it’s always that way Cassi! there are no words. sometimes we are reduced to a plaintive, low moaning sound.

Most times getting lost is just extra adventure.
Beautiful photos! Juniper looks like such a little person already with “old soul” eyes. Lucky you.
@judyrutrider - I traveled a route yesterday that my Fiat had stalled in a couple of years before…and I will tell you, I do not miss my Fiat. You are always right BUT I will probably still buy that scooter….xxoo!
@queenie - There are a number of places that remind me of my Fiat every time I drive by them. Driving a Fiat is an adventure in its own right.
