Playing Catch Up
For one reason or another I have not felt much of an urge to blog.
On the other hand, I am taking lots of photos.
No sense me getting all behind waiting for the blogging muse to strike.
Lets get to it with a photo blog of what I have been up to.
My birthday celebrating continued through the week after the birthday date.
I have always been one to celebrate for as long as I can.
I like my birthday.
Later in the week a cafe friend was performing with his band at the Gallery. The college radio station, KDVS, puts together these shows. Alley is the coordinator. These shows are so well organized. I have been to several. I really enjoy them.

Zac works at the Cafe with me. His band performed several covers and did a good job

The girls allowed me to hang out with them. They are so sweet and smart and funny. I am fortunate to call these fabulous young ladies my friends.

We headed over to Stephanie’s place after to celebrate anything we could think of. The girls talk about school, complain about work and parents (I stick up for parents, I promise). They talk about goals, sigh about boys, bitch about the usual all through the ages girl stuff. We had so much fun. I have not laughed so much in a while.
I have picked up all my housekeeping jobs again. I work most of the week these days. My pot pie dynasty remains my goal for next year. The franchise plans are in action, baby steps. But alive and well. My current plan is to get in at the Farmer’s Market this winter. Selling the frozen pies.
The weekend after my party I headed up to Placerville. My daughter was performing at a winery a little above Placerville in Somerset. Myself and the other grandparents hooked up. What a blast. I arrived at John and Mary’s place for dinner. They are so darling and so in love with Juniper. We headed to the winery.
We got there early and were able to taste and enjoy the fruits of said winery.

The show began and Miss Thing (as in Junebug) was a bit finicky. Grandma Mary (this is a goofy photo, she is really gorgeous) is so fabulous as the baby grandma. She coddled and cooed Miss Juniper into submission so that Jocelyn could do her sound check and her show with no worries that little Junie pie was not tended to.

Jocelyn is a wonderful and amazing mom. I swoon when I see her with her daughter. She sounds better than ever. Her new songs blew me away.

Matt (in blue bandana), John and Mary’s son, with his bandmate Dan, also performed. It was wonderful.
Jocelyn was in top form and I knew Matt is very talented but had never heard his amazing crooning pop voice. So awesome.

While Grandma Mary was rocking and walking Juniper while she cried, John and I were almost crying over how talented our kids are. Geeze!

My beautiful ladies
And finally, two weeks after my birthday I was invited to my friend Vi’s place for a family get together. It was a birthday anniversary something or other get together with my most favorite family in all the land. It was wonderful to see everyone and catch up.

The excuse for the celebration was Jerry’s birthday (The young lady in the green tank top is Jerry’s niece Amber, Sheryl’s daughter)
He is Vi’s youngest son. He is something to behold. I cannot tell you how blessed I am to count these wonderful peeps among my friends. They are really much more like family to me.

Jer and his wife, Cynthia. All that fabulous food and Ryan with his wife Molly and daughter Addison, they are expecting a son in October
These folks are my best friend Tracy’s family. Trace passed just over three years ago. We all miss her every day. I love these people.

First photo is Trace’s hub, he has had some challenges but is dating and has met a lovely lady. She was there. And then we have Ryan, their oldest son AND the most BEAUTIFUL red headed grandchild in all the land, introducing MISS ADDISON! Oh, I love her. Look at her little face and her fabulous dance moves. Love love love!

That is John and Larry bbq’ing and solving the world problems. Next is Sheryl (Tracy’s sister) not buying into any of Poodoh’s (little curly white bag of bones to our left) begging ways
I stayed the night. Of course.
We had party remedies the following morning that included some medicinal tequila and fabulous crispy carnitas tacos. The best time. Thank you Vi!
There that all is.

I love your photo blog! Joc is amazing, I can think of a new photo opportunity for you—cabin time! Let’s talk calendars. You have been walking/jogging. Let’s kick it up a notch!
@ItzaRoos - I really have been sticking to my regime. Even today, when my knees ached I had to walk home from the mechanics shop over on Cantrill. Ack…I can probably pedal or practice tennis a leeeetle…

I love your sunshiney colour scheme over here… very Leo

You have such a wonderful bunch of friends and family. Thank you for sharing them with us.
P.S. You mentioned you have been on Xanga over 10 years… I think you might find it’s over 9 years not 10
You have a lovely daughter (who looks like you!) and granddaughter! Congrats! See ya soon…
Goodmorning, Beautiful fotos- especially of your girls, when you love someone it comes though in the shots- truly. You have a way of surrounding yourself with people that gladden your heart- what a great skill. xg
@light_and_fluffy - Hey Vonn, you are right about it being over nine. I was thinking I started my blog in 2000. Sorry for that error. Math is not my specialty. Thanks for hanging around here all those years, though. I am fortunate to have you as my neighbor here.
Lovely pictures – you’re having fun and getting out and about and that’s a good enough reason to let the blogging slip. It is worrying how many people I used to read have stopped now – I blame Facebook!
wonderful photos. Jocelyn and Juniper are gorgeous, Miss Addison is free and unfettered… may she stay that way forever and Grandma Mary is a treat! thanks for sharing your wonderful life with us!
Lovely photo blog! Lovely! I’m glad that you’re still carrying on your bday celebration… or where, in any event. That’s the way bdays should be, after all!
Looks like a nice time was had by all. Yum. Tacos.
Of course there was never a dull moment in your reality. You’re forever flitting about, chilling with your peeps and listening to some tunage.
Wonderful friends and family pics as usual. I’m glad to see Junilou was right in the middle of everything~
I think a birthday is best celebrated for as close to a full week as a person can manage. Thank you for sharing your wonderful pics!
Nice photos.
This is such a great photo record of good times. Do your remember when just a few years back this would have been 12 photos with only a couple making it to the album.
@vexations - Oh shoot, I took like one hundred pics. There are a couple I did not use here, but many that I discarded. I love digital.
I see I did miss a another great bunch of partying… but, Now that I know, I’m wish you a very VERY happy b-day,,, Double ’cause I’m late~
