  • I’m Going to Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Blog

It has been very nearly a month since I blogged. Lots of things are going on. I try to see my grand daughter and daughter at least once a week or more. Lets just start out with what you all have been waiting for…PICTURES of my daughters family!!!
(Juniper turns ONE MONTH officially TODAY!!!!)

The very beautiful and very smart Miss Juniper (she gurgles in Latin and poops fine art!)

These are weeks one and two, when Jocelyn and I celebrated our mom’s day early.

These are photos I took for the announcements that we will have made up. (The first photo of the three of them is my fave)

Jocelyn is a wonderful mommy (I love my daughter very much)

This is probably the newest picture that I have taken, but this is well over a week old. I will take more pictures this coming week. Of course. I have visited but we have been busy or Miss Juniper has been a little fussy and what not.

This was actual Mother’s Day Sunday CHEERS!

I had to work on Mom’s day proper as did Nancy ( a mother and grandmother as well!). I felt it was my duty to bring champagne and orange juice for mimosa’s. It dulled the pain of having to work that day as we lifted our disguised champagne cups!

Lets see…my son is home from his two week mini tour and work trip up to Portland. He is kind of pissy and I really don’t get it…thank goodness I am almost too busy to participate in much of it. It is wonderful to have him home, though. He is working on new music and I love listening to him. And he mowed my front lawn. I think he is always cranky when he gets home from travels. Is that a boy thing, you think?

I bought the box set of all the seasons of Sex in the City. It is my guilty pleasure. I never watched this when it was out and I love it now. For what ever reason, I just love it. My son watches it with me. We crack up at all the bawdy and tawdry sex stuff. But the show is pretty darn hilarious on it’s own dialogue merits. Lots of boobs and butts and lots more of  funny funny material.

I have also been working on my back yard. I have my FINAL FORTIETH birthday coming this July. This is the motivation behind the garden renovation. There is a party planned.

    http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3414/4625824834_1a9b23ffe1.jpg   http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3370/4625828482_bdbc2e73f5.jpg   http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3391/4625225781_a1e0d3b970.jpg

Unfortunately I have no before photos, it was a big disaster. My back yard became a mud pit when the landlord replaced the water pipes in the back yard. Mounds and piles of displaced earth and the garden box wood as well as the yard fencing was torn apart. I definitely had help with all the dirt moving and nail pounding.

    http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3411/4625826072_33889fbc72_m.jpg   http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4056/4625222123_ed93696b95_m.jpg   http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3360/4625829536_c78b2b342c_m.jpg

Grass seed has been planted on the scrappy dirt patches. I still need to check out my misting system and hang lights in my bamboo. The garden and pots of color look great. The yard is clean and organized. There is going to be a big party here on July 24th. A Full Moon Tequila Tasting. If you are in the neighborhood, grab your shot glass, wear a helmet, bring your sleeping bag and come on over! (I am calling this my HALF FULL Party, as I will be at 49%!)

Jocelyn, Juniper and I also were out in midtown Sacramento for some theater. Her friends, Jessalyn and Chenelle, presented a series of one act plays written and performed by local and gifted talent. It was an outstanding group of collaborators. Entertaining, funny and compelling!

In other exciting news, I am thinking of and working towards opening a cafe in Davis. Small venue, delish food that I do not have to make. Reasonably priced. Healthy. Ability to purchase frozen to take home (and NOT pizza!). Limited but eclectic menu. Ideal for a studenty and working fam population. The owners (who I have known since they opened their first store in 1998 in Placerville) of said franchise and I met up in downtown Davis with a commercial property lease guy to walk around and see what is available and when. I do not know much about that end of it. It was informative and I have a list of things to do and homework. I am very excited about this. Not in a pushy do it now kind of way, but in a learn as I go lets do this for the long run kind of way. The owners are very excited about opening a store in Davis.

My brother is still a thorn in my side. I may have to begin the eviction process. He is just drunk and trashing mom’s house. I wanted it on the market by now but we cannot do anything til he gets out of the house. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He has proven himself to be a liability to himself and to mom’s property. Too much to start bitching about here. Just an update of that sitch…bleh…

So, I am taking next week off to head up the hill and hang with my daughter and grand daughter. To also begin work in earnest in prepping mom’s place in order to put up a For Sale sign. Hopefully by mid June.

Jocelyn and I are going to see John Waters (film maker) tonight at the Crest Theater in Sacramento. He is part of a lecture series put on by California Lectures. He is promoting his new book, “Role Models”. Waters is best known (at least to some…) for his films Hairspray and Pink Flamingos. Both starred the late but never unfashionable transvestite actor Divine. Joc and I are looking forward to that.

Sorry for the long long blog. Just playing KETCHUP!
How is everyone out there? How are you? I try to keep up, I really do.
