If you were even a little more glitter…
Well, we all try to get a little bit better. And I like you and I just want to say that…
(stolen song lyrics by Simon Day)Life is so dang good.
Michael with HaleyMy son is on a three week mini tour of S Ca and assorted N Coast shows. If he is in your hood please check him out. He is so dang terrific! His cheeky pop tunes will catch you and not let you go.
My daughter is playing shows. I have seen one. Another this coming Friday. The best. Her voice is better than EVER. Both kids are writing the best songs of their lives.
Miss ThingGrandma Mary sent me this picture of Junebug-Queen Bean today while she was babysitting our precious darling. She wrote in the text: “I was a good girl at Grandma’s house today! See my big goomba eyes? Aren’t they sooo pretty? Love, Bean”
BIG SMILE!
I love ALL OF MY FAMILY!I am a blessed and lucky lady.
The friend that I have reconnected with from about twenty years ago (on facebook, I posted all those way bitchin’ eighties pics, remember?) did a girl over night in Reno this past weekend. We went to the Silver Legacy and saw Cyndi Lauper.
So much fun! Driving up, catching up, she was a terrific girlfriend back in the day but now a wonderful wise person now. She and her two boys are coming through some very very difficult times. I am so blessed to be back in touch with her. We did our best to cover twenty plus years in a two hour drive, saw the show…Cyndi looks FANTASTIC! Her pop music never showcased her voice like it could have. She did an old blues review with a really talented blues back up band. Skilled.
She rocked the house. Carrie even danced in the aisles, made her way up stage and shook her hand!
After we hit one of the many many bars in the Silver Legacy, we were parched and needed adult beverages, we talked about today and remembered as much as we could about yesterday (Carrie has a picture perfect memory)…Three martinis later we fell up the elevator back to our room. Once there the only right thing to do was to drunk dial our partner in crime, ROLA!
Rola (Laura…a great story goes with that) and Carrie in Carson City in 1980
Lost in the hallways of Silver Legacy, terrible coffee in the morning seemed to make it better but Bloody Mary’s at Peppermill nailed it
We called our co-hort in crime at around midnight and we talked til after three AM! We laughed and remembered and talked over each other laughing our guts out. We enjoyed every minute of that speaker phone conversation! Laura’s poor hub was a good sport, demanding, once, our talk turned this way or that, “I don’t want to hear about “xxxx”, I want to hear about the SAX” In his Brit accent. ha ha ha!
So, back to regular life. I need money and suddenly pennies are falling from heaven. Thank you! Thank you!Worked triple hard for a people I have worked for before. Terrific peeps. I do not mind at all. I never mind hard work but love it especially when I work along side cool peeps.
K, catch up blog! Love you.

you’re having lots of fun, Cass. I’m glad. : )
your daughter has a mighty nice Gibson guitar, there.
I don’t have old friends like that reconnect with… I’ve never been especially social. It does sound like fun, catching up on old times and all. I’m glad you’ve reconnected and had such a great time. We should all be that lucky.
I wanted to recommend this post Cass because it made me smile from beginning to end! Your kids are so talented and have lovely voices. I wish they’d make their way out to the midwest! It sounds like you’re living the life!
Omg, the Silver Legacy and the Peppermill. I got shivers, they’re 2 of my favorite casinos. I used to go there with my mother. I love the excitement, the restaurants, the slot machines. Now I’m sad.
(in a good way)
Musn’t forget ‘Circus Circus.’
Grandma Mary’s caption for the pic is perfect! Somebody is sooooo loved!
Glad your kids are doing so well…makes a mom proud, eh?
More pics from the party side..lol…you never, ever stop for a second, do ya? Love you Cassilou!
Cassi girl, you live a wilder life than Cyndi and you’ve got Michael, Jocelyn and Miss Thing too! Rock on!
Very cool! Sounds like you had a blast!!
Pennys from Heaven was a song a local band did years and years ago. I loved it and you blog brought back all those good memories! I am so glad you had a great time and that the pennys are rolling in. Have a safe and relaxing holiday weekend!
Your kids go on their way beautifully, Cassi .

When we meet a girl friend of twenty years it becomes a firework !
A shower of pennies is not bad . Next time ask a shower of dollars !!
