  • New Stuff Afoot

It is simply not enough for me to be so very close to fifty. That would be whining.

BUT…becoming a grandma’ma in my very close future clinches that fact that I am an old lady and I LOVE IT!!!!!

I had a dream last night that I was buying my grand daughter an astrolog. ical chart. She was Jocelyn’s daughter, in the dream she was around three years old. It was a pleasant dream but when I awoke, given that the grand daughter in the dream time was already three years old I did not give this much weight. A future glimpse or just a realization that new things were afoot seemed to be the story being told to me upon waking.

My daughter called me at work this morning. First of all, my daughter calls me at her leisure. For her to call would mean it might be important. I picked up the call.

    “Mom, I have some news.”

Well I am having a grumpy Monday morning. My back is killing me and I drank too much wine the night before. Bad sleep, achy back, grumpy mom.

I know my daughter does not call me for no reason. What is this news?

“Mom, this is BIG news.” I began to laugh.

    I already figured this out.

What is your news Sweetie Peetie?

    “I am pregnant”

I begin to laugh because, I already know this. I know.

I laugh and tell her of course, I had a dream. And I laugh and laugh.

We talk for a moment more. I will go see her this weekend. I need to go hug my girl.

Her bf is freaked out. “You mean to tell me that doing this over and over and over again makes babies???” (not really, but boys are so funny) But, he cools down and decides that they should DO THIS THING! (and probably with high fives like our family does)

Her brother is freaked out…They are going to go through with this?

But he relents,”Well, I am glad, we need to add more people to our family. It sure wasn’t going to be me.”

Nor, me, I add. We like our family. The world needs more of us.

    So, there that is.
