Birthday Cakes and Unicorns
Well, you know it is going to be a good party when you have lots of wine, cake and a unicorn in attendance.
Our own Debi and my friend Bridgette in her unicorn suit
My girlfriend, Deborah, celebrated her fiftieth birthday last night. All the cool Davis people were in attendance. Yeah, a couple of out of towners made it over too.
It was a blast.
We put this party together last Friday over happy hour adult beverages at Sophia’s. Who would have thought that alcohol and brain storming could have worked out so well!
Some of my happy hour posse, Mark, Larry and Karen
Her party was on the roof top of the John Natsoula Gallery in downtown Davis. There could have been no cooler location.
John (the gracious gallery owner) and Deborah goofing off in the gallery
Especially once the Droogs showed up and plugged in their instruments.
We all loved their rocking covers of David Bowie, T Rex, Sweet and the New York Dolls. Everyone was up dancing. Those Droog fellers have brand new fans ranging in age from six months to 70 years old. So very cool.
The party was a stellar success. The evening temps were perfect, we had a nice sized crowd. Pizza and candy corns and specially made cakes were bountiful. Not to mention, the wine was flowing.
Happy Birthday Deborah! What a cool way to celebrate a mammoth birthday event! YAY!
It was an awesome party!
Ack…My head hurts this morning….

Wow. I want to be part of your rockin’ social circle!
Aw…what a shining smile Debi has…damn! I never get to go anywhere. Being an East Coast girl I have decided that I must really be a West Coast girl. It seems all the fun stuff is going on out there.
you should be a party promoter! all of your gigs seem so cool and the way you retell them makes us jealous!! we want to be there!
I will only remember one thing every time I think of this party
